Booked a half-day trip with Christian Ray and it was hands down one of the best fishing experiences I’ve had in Austin. The guide was on point—super patient, clearly knew the waters, and put us right on the bass within the first hour. Whether you're chasing your personal best or just want a chill day outdoors, this charter delivers. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

Had an amazing time with Captain Bass Texas on Lake Travis. The guide was super knowledgeable, friendly, and knew exactly where the big bass were hiding. We caught several largemouths, including a few real trophies. The boat was clean and well-equipped, and everything was taken care of—just show up and fish. Perfect for both seasoned anglers and beginners. Can’t wait to book another trip!

Great Vibes, Even Better Fishing
If you're in Austin and looking to hook some serious bass, this is the trip to take. [Charter Name] made everything easy and fun—showed us the best spots, gave great tips, and we ended up catching more than we expected. Felt like fishing with an old friend who just happens to be a bass whisperer. Worth every penny. Already planning my next trip!

About Captain Bass Texas
A lifelong avid fisherman from Katy, Texas, Captain Christian Ray learned the art of bass fishing from his dad and uncle. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Aviation Branch before following his passion to Breckenridge, Colorado, where he became a fly fishing guide for Blue River Anglers.
Once he honed his guide skills, he landed his first job in Alaska as a new captain, running charters out of Shelter Cove and Fireweed Lodge in Craig, Alaska. His next stop was Salmon Falls Lodge, where he spent several years as the lead captain and remote fly fishing guide.
In 2004, Captain Ray founded the Alaska Fly Fishing Company, which still operates remote trips with clients in Western Alaska.
In 2019, he moved back to Lago Vista, Texas, and started his guide business on Lake Travis, Belton Lake, Lake Buchanan, Lake Austin, and Town Lake (Lady Bird Lake) in Austin. He also guides trips to the famed O.H. Ivie and Lake Fayette.
You’ll fish from a 2010 Ranger Z21 Comanche, outfitted with the latest electronics and powered by a 250 PRO XS.
Captain Ray is also a proud member and staff angler for the ARMY BASS ANGLERS Coalition!
